Ilja Poepper is Regional Vice President Sales & Marketing – Asia. In his role, Ilja sharpens our business development and drives the positioning and performance for both Kempinski and NUO Hotels in Asia.

Ilja has a long history working with major hotel brands in China. Having grown up in the country, he offers great knowledge and understanding of the market and culture. Ilja has worked in senior corporate roles, most recently as Vice President for Wanda, where he was in charge of asset management for their contracted hotels, comprising 40 Hilton, Starwood, IHG, Accor and Hyatt properties. Ilja was also at the forefront of operations and building their branded properties – Wanda Reign, Vista and Wanda Realm across 50 destinations.

Ilja is a results-driven and highly committed professional with over 20 years’ experience in the China luxury hospitality industry in both operations and sales and marketing. His strengths include alignment of the pillars of Sales, Marketing, Distribution, Revenue Management and Public Relations.
