The Chinese luxury hotel brand NUO was officially launched on September 20th, 2012 during an inauguration ceremony at the Temple of Heaven, Beijing. The name NUO comes from the Chinese characters “诺金” (Nuo Jin) which translates as “the golden promise”. In pioneering Chinese luxury hospitality as the country’s first homegrown five-star hotel brand, NUO interprets its “golden promise” by drawing on the country’s 5000 years of history and its commitment to serving as a custodian of traditional Chinese culture. NUO’s brand identity is symbolised by a Chinese vase, representing hospitality, prosperity, and commitment to a brighter future.
Inspired by China’s rich heritage the brand symbolises “The Chinese Dream” for the hotel industry. Their delivery of modern luxurious travel experiences and promoting contemporary Chinese art in their hotels fulfills many of their key brand pillars. NUO Hotels are also pioneering a “low-carbon, green intelligence” initiative within all of their hotels. The brands plan to extend their “green promise” by cooperating with trade industry leaders in developing standard criteria for other low-carbon hotels around the world, in addition to joining the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) low-carbon hotel organisation
